Cosplay 101: Fullmetal Alchemist

Fullmetal Alchemist Cosplayers

Japan’s Fullmetal Alchemist is one of the most popular anime series around. And as a result, cosplayers from around the world have come in droves to imitate the main characters like never before. If you are looking to take your love of cosplay to the next level, I’ll include some points to consider when attempting to become your favorite character in this highly acclaimed anime series. Let’s begin!

Starting off with Winry, as a character she is tomboyish as one can be. Most of time, she dresses in the rather usual casual working clothes! You will find that most of her costumes are based around her wearing a short black t-shirt or even a crop top, green or beige cargo pants together with a bandanna that is often tied around her forehead. The bandanna is mostly red or green in color. The long blonde hair of Winry is usually covered by the bandanna. As for her hairstyle, it typically has bangs on each side. Being an accessory, the costume for Winry comprises a plastic or metal wrench. Keep in mind that this is an accessory that can’t be missed at any cost.

A black T-shirt that is usually under a short black jacket will resemble the costume of Greed. Along the edges of the jacket, you will find white lining. These items are often combined with black trousers that can even be made from leather plus dark boots. Greed has dark hair which is cut fairly short by the use of large pointed spikes. Accessories may include a pair of sunglasses, preferably dark, to complete this particular look.

By having a picture of how each of these two characters looks, you may either find it easier or more difficult to re-create them due to their robotic elements. With a little familiarity in regards to the whole series of Fullmetal Alchemist, you should be able to dress up like them in no time. And for places to go to get your hands on the best Fullmetal Alchemist garb you can find, I would suggest for you to check out what I feel is the best anime merchandise site online and coming in a close second, the team at Hello Cosplay.
